However, seriously, if you are really into serving college bands and you like meeting new people, you should consider running for district council. Most members of Tau Beta Sigma think that district council is so “out of their league.” 

They say “i could never do that.” 

“With what time?”

“How nerdy do you have to be?”

I’ve heard it all, but that’s not the council I see. I see leaders of chapters, I see silent leaders, I see people who do not belong, I see people committed to making this organization better than they found it… Your council is here for you. We want to know each and every sister. Ever. We want to travel everywhere. But we can’t do any of this without you, the membership… 

So if you are interested in traveling, meeting new people, being engulfed in Tau Beta Sigma heaven for a year, email SOMEONE. Let someone know!!!! No matter what district you are in, I’d love to talk to you and get you in touch with whoever you need to be so that you can accomplish this!

Hello ITB and Music Supporters, we here at March for Music HQ have been thrilled at the progress made with registration over the past week. Therefore, we have decided to extend the on-time registration deadline until Monday.

Please, take this time to create your team, get members registered (3 step process), and receive your participation packets. 

Starting THIS Monday (Feb 4) registration will increase by $5. Additionally, every Monday thereafter, until the event, will also increase by $5. We have also decided, the minimum donation to create a team will not change throughout this process.

HOWEVER, on February 1st, the late fee gets installed…. that is $15 more per person, and $50 per team.

This is not MY project, this is OUR project. Tau Beta Sigma’s project. And we all need to support it for it to come to life.

I have been neglecting Tumblr over the end of last semester and Christmas break… no reason, just a lot on my mind that everyone does not need to know. 

But here are a few updates about things I have learned:

1. Your sisters will always be there for you—-> I recently went through a break up with a man I truly cared about. It was hard. And I didn’t make necessarily “cultivate and maintain my emotional poise.” I kinda went a little Mean Girls…. But you know what, through it all, my sisters were there. Supporting me, showing me love, and reminding me that there are some relationships that last forever. 

2. March for Music is driving me crazy—-> SO I have decided that March for Music is either going to go really extremely well or it’s going to flop. And it’s taken me this long to accept that. And to realize that I am the only one that can make that choice. So regardless of coordinators dropping, regardless of the (relatively) low registration numbers right now, I WILL PERSEVERE. I am determined to make this the next greatest event for the Southeast District of Tau Beta Sigma to participate in- this year and EVERY year.

3. ITB events are the greatest thing that ever has happened in my life. This weekend is Winter Council. I CANNOT WAIT. Next weekend is Honda, I am giddy with excitement. I just love ITB too much for a normal person to maintain normal relations.

According to Facebook, my 2012 was pretty fab. I turned 22, SHAY SHAY-ed all over China, got elected to the Tau Beta Sigma Southeast District Council with my favorite sisters, attended formal with a spectacular man, bonded with more ITB than this status has room for, got new business cards, celebrated the long life of my sister now in the great sorority above, and, finally, attended several Auburn

 football games, as a student, and with my best friends. Now I know that’s a lot to take in, but I certainly have enjoyed every minute of it, and as we approach the holidays and the turn of a new year, I am expecting many more moments like these, for many years to come. Through the misfortune and sometimes sad occurrences of life, we find out the person we truly are… And I am honestly and completely proud of the woman I have become. MLITB and War Eagle Forever!
